Stretching is something
that should be included in any horses conditioning programme but has to be done correctly. It
can be applied either after a massage session, during the warm-up and cool-down.
By regularly applying
a stretching regime combined with massage your horse can achieve: A longer stride, Improved
performance, Better
range of motion therefore improving lateral movements, Improves circulation
and strength of muscle contractions, Reduces warm-up time, Reduces
tension, stiffness and soreness, Gradually lengthens and stretches scar tissue in the
tendons.
