As well as having horses i also have two dogs so in 2006 when i was offered the chance to do an Arctic Dog Trek i naturally jumped at the chance.

Having now done a second dog sledding trek across norway and sweden I now want to make others aware that these sort of adventure trips are available to anyone. This years trip was truely amazing, 450kms over 6 days!!

Alternatively to dog sledding you can try:

  • Sea Kayaking,
  • Climbing,
  • Snow Mobiles,
  • Skiing - Stay on a luxury yacht and travel round the norwegian alps for plenty of off piste Skiing, untouched snow and no crowded slopes,
  • Diving  - trips to dive with whales start November 2007,
And my very favourite..... Horse trek across the swedish mountains on icelandic horses.

New for 2008…..

Horse Trek across Sweden and Norway!!

Experience the stunning scenery of northern Norway and Sweden on horseback.

This trek will take you on a 5 day wilderness adventure between Kiruna and Tromso. Staying in cabins, and maybe some nights out camping, you will ride over 300kms covering a variety of terrain.

With breathtaking mountainous views, lakes and forests this will truly be a holiday to remember.

The trip will be 8 days in total, 5 days spent on horseback.

Minimum of 4 people and Max of 6.

Basic riding experience is required with a min age of 12yrs plus your own holiday insurance will be necessary.

The Treks will start in June and finish in August.

These treks are run by Arctic Adventure Tours, a norwegian business owned by Per-thore Hansen. With norwegian special forces experience and also an instructor for polar medics you will be in more than safe hands.
